The Large Family Garden was designed to reflect the needs of the owners. The soil in the garden was heavy clay so soil preparation and selection of the plants for the garden were carefully considered for the conditions. The planting throughout the garden is a mixture of architectural plants such as Phormium, grasses which are planted amongst the perennials and bulbs that soften the edges of the hard landscaping.
These are broken up by Buxus Balls which echo the standard tress ’Photinia Red Robin’.The planting is a restricted colour scheme providing all year around interest .We also incorporated into the design the concrete spheres and pebbles for additional contrast in colour and texture. The decking area was added for extra seating and a space for entertainment. Also we created a herbal and vegetable garden at the side of the house.
